Grootbos Foundation's Green Futures Education programmes equip local youth with essential green skills that safeguard the Cape Floristic Region. Through activities like invasive plant clearing, indigenous fynbos identification, and plant propagation, we foster environmental knowledge and ignite green career pathways.
At Grootbos Foundation, fynbos stewardship isn’t just a goal; it’s a lifelong pursuit, which influences how we live and the work we champion. This journey begins with the Earth Rangers programme, where children build a connection to fynbos and the environment through hikes, plant and insect studies, and excursions to the rocky shore. Here, they learn about the delicate balance of marine ecosystems. As they grow, these experiences instill a lasting love for nature, which guides some children toward careers that support a greener economy.
Through the Indigenous Horticulture course at Green Futures College and the Biodiversity Stewardship programme, young adults are empowered to carry this knowledge forward and create meaningful change. But we can’t do this alone, each donation helps provide resources and training to our local community so that together we can protect our precious ecosystems and become the next generation of green leaders.
With your support, you help preserve the Cape Floristic Region for future generations, ensuring that fynbos thrives and that our communities continue to benefit from a healthy, sustainable environment. Together, we are creating a legacy of stewardship—one that will bloom for generations
