Have you noticed children and youths playing sport

Have you noticed children and youths playing sports at the Spaces for Sports fields in Gansbaai and wondered how to sign up and join in? Our free sports coaching is available every afternoon during school terms and is open to all children and teenagers from 6 - 19 years of age. During the school holidays, a holiday programme runs from 9:00 until 13:00 every day. Every sports engagement includes a healthy snack for all. Everyone is welcome; no one is turned away so make sure you and your friends join in to be a part of this fun, positive and safe programme for youths.

These large wooden crates are filled with sanitary

These large wooden crates are filled with sanitary pads and have been placed at 10 schools and social welfare sites in the Gansbaai and Stanford area. Free and easy access to sanitary pads removes the barrier that often prevents girls from attending school, sports and life opportunities while they menstruate. No girl should miss out on life because of her natural, healthy biology.

Fynbos Forum meets annually to discuss the collabo

Fynbos Forum meets annually to discuss the collaborative production of knowledge that underpins regional conservation efforts in the fynbos biome of South Africa.

Maisie Brett is a PHD student who is conducting research at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. Maisie presented her research on the use of Nectar phenology to assess competition between honey bees and wild insects in heathland habitats.

Anelisa started styling hair and painting nails fo

Anelisa started styling hair and painting nails for her family members and friends in 2020; she soon realised she had a passion and a talent enough to start a small business. After offering her services unofficially for 2 years, Anelisa decided to take a leap of faith and officially open her business in 2022.

With seed funding and mentoring from our Enterprise Development team, Anelisa has been able to set up her business with new furniture, stock, equipment and signage.

We look forward to following Anelisa’s progress in the world of beauty treatments!

As a part of our indigenous horticulture training

As a part of our indigenous horticulture training programme we offer Grade 12 English and Maths Literacy subjects which means when our students graduate from Green Futures College, they receive a matric certificate from the Department of higher Education and Training along with their horticulture accreditation.

We are proud to say that all nine of the students who recently wrote their Grade 12 English exam passed. Seven of the eight students who wrote grade 12 Maths Literacy passed. Well done to these hard working students who are focussed on the future!

Finding your first job can be daunting, and without guidance, things like CVs, motivation letters and interviews can be huge barriers to entering the workforce.

A part of our employment preparation workshop gives youths the tools to identify their career goals and skills to succeed in this process.

Zimvo Tawuse represented Boland at the Western Cape Cross Country Championships in George this weekend. He placed 3rd in the u19 category.
