 Students are chosen each year to receive 6 month’s worth of training and experience. This is life-changing for the young men and women who have missed out on opportunities for education, work experience and career development after they left high school.

You believe that a skill is the key to unlocking unused potential. We believe that too. Which is why we provide practical work experience and classroom skills training so that our adult students are primed to grasp opportunities to find meaningful work.

South Africa faces mass unemployment, with 60% of youth under 25 without work. A vocational skill will increase a young person’s chances of finding employment and staying employed. This is the beginning of the journey to secure employment for youth in Gansbaai. 

Your donation to Fundastudent will go to Green Futures College where Grootbos Foundation delivers adult skills training specifically designed to give adults the skills necessary to work within the green economy in the Cape Floristic Region. Graduates from our college have gone on to work as indigenous gardeners, housekeepers, nature guides, teachers, barkeepers and receptionists due to the training and opportunities they received at the Green Futures College.

Green Futures College offers accredited skills training in eco-tourism, hospitality and indigenous horticulture alongside a work readiness curriculum, first aid certification, chainsaw accreditation and computer end-user skills. This bouquet of skills equips every graduate for the world of work.
