Congratulations to Our 2025 Entrepreneurs
This past May marked the end of the 2025/2026 Entrepreneurship Programme cycle. On 8 June, the participating small business owners from the 2025/2026 cohort of the Entrepreneur Mentorship programme gathered to celebrate their successful completion of the programme. For this group of entrepreneurs, the final meeting in May was much more than just the conclusion of a programme. As they received their customised business signs and apparel for their businesses based in Stanford and Gansbaai, they celebrated the end of an incredible journey and the beginning of many new ones.
Over the past twelve months, each entrepreneur has worked tirelessly to build, strengthen, and in some cases expand their small business. While success looked different for every entrepreneur, every achievement, no matter how big or small, is definitely worth celebrating. For some, it meant slowly but steadily growing their client base and getting more contracts. For others, it meant reaching financial stability, or achieving their more ambitious goals of investing in a car or even in a home.
But perhaps most important is that every single entrepreneur has experienced remarkable personal growth over the course of the Entrepreneur Mentorship programme. Alongside the everyday challenges of running a business, many entrepreneurs faced personal struggles and unexpected setbacks and yet, still persevered. Through it all, they were supported by their mentors, Monica and Simone, whose guidance extended far beyond business advice.
It was the knowledge that the mentors genuinely believed in the entrepreneurs as business owners and in their businesses that made the biggest difference to the entrepreneurs. While having a support system is important, ultimately it is each individual small business owner who must show up for their own dreams and put in the hard work. And if there is one thing this group did consistently, it was showing up. The key lesson here is: "Delay is not denial." Patience, resilience, persistence and a willingness to keep learning are the real foundations of success. Every entrepreneurial journey is unique, but each participant discovered that there is room in Gansbaai and Stanford for their business, their ideas and their talents.
Throughout the past year, the group did not only rely on their mentors but formed a special connection amongst each other. They encouraged one another, celebrated each other's victories and supported one another through challenges. Their final meeting was not simply the closing session of a programme; it was a celebration of every entrepreneur, of the friendships they built and of the dedication shown by their mentors.
We are incredibly proud that our entrepreneurs have become more than successful business owners. Many have grown into pillars of their communities and families. Some are now creating employment opportunities for others and are able to provide greater stability and security for their loved ones, becoming role models in their communities.
Although the weekly mentorship sessions have come to an end, this is by no means goodbye. We look forward to seeing these entrepreneurs around town as they continue to grow, innovate and inspire.
