The launch of the Grootbos Environmental Centre.

We are excited to introduce our very new Grootbos Environmental Centre. The purpose of the facility is to support environmental education and ecological research. Being based on the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve the Grootbos Environmental Center is the ideal base for students and academics to immerse themselves in nature and particularly the Cape Floral Kingdom.

The Cape Floral Kingdom, is the smallest yet most diverse of the six world vegetation types and is a landscape under threat. So many research gaps exist around the Cape fynbos and this is the ideal base from which such studies can be undertaken. The centre will be a space where learners, students and academics are able to immerse themselves in the pristine natural environment that surrounds the research center.

The Grootbos Environmental Centre is set in a beautiful, serene environment with nature walks, hikes and its very own picturesque dam to meditation. Accommodation options exist catering either for smaller more intimate groups or a larger dorm style facility for bigger groups.
